Lotus Is Music to DJ's Ears


A TYNESIDE DJ has added prestige carmaker Lotus to his list of clients and now hopes to win more big-name contracts after building business at his recording studios in Newcastle.

Steve Bainbridge launched The Beat Suite in 2004 to provide easy access and download of royalty-free, high-quality music and sounds to advertising agencies and film and TV production companies.

The company has customers in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany and Mexico, and draws on a bank of over 75 talented composers to help firms.

The company recently completed soundtracks for Lotus as part of its publicity campaign for the pounds 50,000, 165mph Lotus Evora and the pounds 27,000, 124mph Lotus Elise.

The tracks, described by Beat Suite managing director Steve Bainbridge as a "pumping house remix of Beethoven''s 5th symphony", have been used to accompany the showcasing of the cars around the world and are used online to promote the brand.

The Beat Suite, which offers custom music, audio production services and voiceover, won the pitch for the contract after providing samples to Griffin Interactive Productions, which was commissioned by Birmingham-based ad firm McCann Erickson to produce the films. …
