Painting Gives Artist a Voyage to New York

RAELEAN Hall says she loves seeing where a painting can take her, rather than where she can take a painting.
On Friday night, the Buddina artist's work, Out In The Elements, began taking her all the way to New York when it took out Caloundra Rotary Club's ArtCoast 2011 competition, which offered a $6000 trip to New York and $4000 cash, courtesy of Shadforths Civil Contractors.
She said she couldn't wait to see how her art would be received in New York.

The prize is touted as the largest prize of its kind in regional Australia and sponsor Geoff Shadforth, from Shadforths Civil Contractors, said he was looking forward to the future of ArtCoast and the opportunities it provided the community a both artistic and otherwise.
