What It's Really like Inside: Freeview


- How does the team come up with fresh marketing ideas?

We take our inspiration from everything in the mainstream. We keep up with what's big in TV, be it the latest technology that's hitting the market, social-media trends or how people like to watch their favourite shows on the move, at home and online.

A bit of left-field thinking is good, too, so everyone is encouraged to experience new things and bring back anything that will provide fresh inspiration.

- What are the perks of the job?

A caring, sharing, generous environment. Lots of training opportunities, flexible working hours and the usual benefits. We believe a happy team is a productive team. Also, knowing that we are making viewers happy by providing them with their favourite programmes.

- Describe the marketing team in three words.

Happy, generous and simple.

- What is the main marketing challenge you face?

Achieving cut-through in a market where competitors outspend us by more than 50 to one. We are about brilliant ideas that will carve out a space in consumer's minds.

- Is there a dress code?

Freeviewers wear what they feel comfortable in.

- Does the marketing team socialise outside office hours?

Just try and stop them.

Our office is next to a pub.

We might be a small team compared with our competitors, but we're big on laughs.

- What are the hours like? …
