LEGAL loopholes that have helped the sex trade to flourish are to be shut.
Over the past few years the amount of foreign slaves - both sex and domestic - being trafficked to and through Northern Ireland has exploded.
Crime godfathers plying their trade in human misery have been making the most of our lenient laws to build multi-million pound empires.
But a new law is designed to make life for money hungry-traffickers increasingly more difficult.
DUP MLA Lord Morrow is hoping his proposed draft bill tackling the cruel trade will make Ulster a "cold-house" for human trafficking godfathers.
He said: "There's a gap in legislation here between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.
"We aren't compliant with the current EU directive on human trafficking and this bill is an attempt to close that gap."
The law is at its early stages in Stormont's lengthy legislative process. …
