WHAT does the word 'enterprise' mean to you? For many, the word is associated with business and making money. Although this is certainly true, there are many more aspects to enterprise and becoming enterprising.
Developing confidence, working in a team, improving communication skills, and achieving goals and objectives are some of the many skills and abilities Grwp Llandrillo Menai students gain through participation in enterprise activities.
Alongside the development of vital employability skills, enterprise is also about creating opportunities and establishing business and entrepreneurial awareness. This encourages and supports our students to think about creating opportunities for themselves, either through business start-ups or finding employment.
Grwp Llandrillo Menai is a dynamic, creative and innovative organisation when it comes to enterprise and its delivery. It is an embedded part of the core curriculum with students actively encouraged, and regularly inspired, to develop their enterprise, entrepreneurship and employability skills. Working in collaboration with Bangor University, Grwp Llandrillo Menai is leading on the newly formed North West Wales Regional Enterprise Hub, which has received funding from the Welsh Government to deliver enterprise throughout the institutions. One of the projects currently being developed is the 'Enterprise Club'. Following a successful pilot at Coleg Llandrillo's Rhyl Campus, the 'Enterprise Club' initiative encourages the idea generation of new products or services and gives students the opportunity and support to develop these business ideas in a professional and logical manner. …
