Holiday tree collection set:
Naperville will collect live holiday trees on each resident's normal garbage collection day during the weeks of Jan. 7 and Jan. 14. Trees must be free of all ornaments, tinsel, lights, stands, plastic or bagging material. Residents also may discard holiday lights that no longer work at the Public Works Service Center building, 180 Fort Hill Drive, or the Recycling Drop-Off Center, located just northwest of the public works center. The drop-off center's normal hours of operation are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. For details, visit naperville.il.us.
Wolves player at library:
Alex Friesen, a center with the Chicago Wolves, will talk about reading and hockey at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, at Nichols Library, 200 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville. Friesen's visit is part of the library's Winter Family Read Aloud Program. During the program, which runs through Jan. 31, families are urged to make reading part of their family activities; and reading the sports pages together and discussing goals is just one of the ways families can work on their reading logs.
