Celebrate Tu Bish'vat: 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, Congregation Am Echod, 616 N. Bridgeport Terrace, Suite B, Lindenhurst. The New Year of the Trees, which is on the 15th day of the month of Sh'vat, will be celebrated with a pot luck dairy dinner at 6 p.m., followed by Shabbat Evening Service at 7 p.m. led by the Hebrew School students. In addition, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, a Family Tu Bish'Vat Seder will be held. Free and open to the public Come join the celebration of trees and eat fruit from biblical trees. The Shabbath of Song: 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, Temple Chai is at 1670 W. Checker Road, Long Grove. Shabbat dinner and conversation with Rabbi Rick Jacobs, Union for Reform Judaism president. Interfaith Family Learning Shabbat: 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, Temple Chai, 1670 W. Checker Road, Long Grove. Valerie Gangware will present a special Shabbat morning worship as families learn the meaning of Shabbat. Temple Chai will welcome those who did not grow up with Jewish prayer to this engaging and interactive learner's service. Children's activities will be available for those in first grade and younger for parents who want to attend and need a child care alternative. Temple Chai is a Reform Congregation. Storytelling: 3-5:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1822 E. Grand Ave., Lindenhurst. The Prairie Wind Guild will bring to life the Gospel of Mark. Come for Mark, and stay for a potluck afterward if you wish. Bring a room-temperature dish to share. St. Mark will provide the main meat for the potluck. The Prairie Wind Guild is a group of people in the Norther Illinois area who are passionate about learning by heart and telling sacred stories. Prairie Wind Guild is associated with the Network of Biblical Storytellers International. …
