65 CRIMES COMMITTED IN CITY'S CEMETERIES; Police Reveal Figures for Past Two Years

POLICE have revealed how many crimes were committed in Coventry's cemeteries in the past two years.
The figures show that 65 crimes were recorded in five of the city's graveyards - with the most offences taking place in Canley Cemetery.
The details have been revealed following a freedom of information act request from the Telegraph.
They come a few months after the festive season when there are usually reports of wreaths being stolen from graves in the city.
There were 18 crimes in London Road Cemetery in the last two years - and the chairman of a group that works to preserve and enhance the location has backed the way police in the city respond.
"We've been to one or two other cemeteries and they have more of a problem with what they call little darlings," Ian Wooley, from the Friends of London Road Cemetery, said.
"But some others in the centre of London have very few problems.
"We don't encounter too many issues. We had a couple of bag snatches a few months back and we contacted the police.
"Whenever something like that happens they really do make their presence felt, putting up signs and talking to people. We do feel they support us when we need their help. …
