$1M Contract Allows Welsh Firm to Grow in Middle East

EXPANSION CREATES MORE JOBS AT HOME A SWANSEA-BASED events management firm is expanding its operations in the Middle East after signing a $1m contract with a major holding company.

Following the deal with Adcore Holding JLT, Team Tours Direct, which specialises in creating and operating sporting and educational projects, will expand into 15 countries around the Middle East.

Its new operation, Team Tours Direct Middle East will be based at the Jumeirah Lake Towers in Dubai and the Welsh firm will work closely with the holding company's specialist sport management company Sport K. Team Tours Direct is one of the UK's leading event management companies, specialising in operating sporting tournaments across the UK and internationally.

The Welsh firm has more than two decades of experience in creating, marketing and managing a range of high-profile sporting events across the UK and globally in countries including India, China and the USA.

The new partnership will allow further expansion of one of Team Tours Direct's international flagship events, the Dubai International Super Cup, as well as the creation and introduction of a range of new sporting tournaments to the firm's quickly expanding portfolio.

The Dubai International Super Cup was launched by Team Tours Direct in 2011 and is now recognised as the leading international youth football competition of its kind in the Middle East.

It attracts people from countries around the world to participate in and support the four-day event.

Team Tours Direct manage the travel and accommodation needs of all teams participating in their events, as well as providing the professional sports and event management expertise of their staff in running the many large-scale football, rugby, cricket and hockey tournaments in their portfolio. Chief executive officer of Team Tours Direct, Alex O'Neill said: "We are very excited to be expanding our network into the Middle East and establishing our brand as a high-quality provider of sports events, educational and cultural projects in this region. "We have secured a number of significant contracts over the past 12 months, and have had to recruit a number of additional staff in Wales to meet demand.

"Partnering with professional, like-minded organisations such as our new Middle East partners in creating Team Tours Direct Middle East, will ensure that we capitalise on the opportunities available to us and continue to develop the Team Tours Direct brand on a global scale. …
