BUTUAN CITY - Demonstrating no respect for religious institutions, a group of robbers victimized the Virgin dela Pas y Buen Viaje in Surtigao City and carted away cash, a report reaching the police regional command and tactical operations center here yesterday stated. Initial reports received by the Police Regional Office 13 (PRO-13) based at Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez here also stated that the undetermined number of robbers entered the office of the church by destroying the padlock at 4:30 a.m. the other day. An investigation also showed that the robbers were able to cart away some P9,775 in cash. (Mike Crismundo)

KABACAN TRADER

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Atrocities once again struck Kabacan town in North Cotabato after two suspects riding in tandem tried to gun down a 53-year-old trader at 8 a.m. Sunday. Superintendent Leo Ajero, Kabacan police chief, identified the victim as Norma Pigcaulan, widow, and a dry goods store owner in Poblacion, Kabacan. Reports said the victim was standing just outside her store located along Roxas Street in Poblacion when one of the two suspects pumped bullets into her right chest. Apparently thinking that their target was already dead, the suspects immediately fled towards Pikit town, also in North Cotabato. (Malu Cadelina Manar)

DUTERTE'S ADVISE

DAVAO CITY - Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte has issued a warning to illegal drug peddlers and users to immediately leave the city or face consequences. "I'm giving you 24 hours to leave", Duterte said over his regular television program "Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa" on Sunday. "If I see you, I'm really sorry," he added. Duterte's warning came after a police officer was killed here on Saturday in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Davao City Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. …
