M.C.C. Supports More Philippine Projects
More private sector participation in development projects in the Philippines is being sought by a United States of America foreign aid agency, the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), for the Philippines to enjoy more inclusive growth or growth that works for the poor.
Three Philippine development projects - Revenue Administration Reform Project, Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS), and Secondary National Roads Development Project - are being funded by the MCC. The Philippine government is open to the suggested private sector contribution to MCC projects, especially under Public-Private Partnership, a flagship program of the Aquino Administration. It is a good opportunity to tap the skills of the private sector, says the Department of Finance (DOF).
On September 23, 2010, President Benigno S.
