Economic Growth in Caraga Seen
Surigao City - Due to the combined effort of the government and the local business community, the Caraga Region's economy have grown to 9.6 percent - noted to be the highest regional growth rate in the country.
The Regional Development Council in Region-13 (RDC-13) said that the mushrooming business opportunities, particularly on the tourism, agriculture, fishery, and mining sectors have boosted the economic activities in the Caraga Region for the past three years.
It was learned that in the mining sector alone, the government have already benefited from the close to P1-billion revenues, aside from the tremendous job opportunities that it created.
The increasing number of tourist arrivals, both local and foreign, also made the Caraga Region to be globally known, which resulted to more income and employment opportunities that directly benefit the local communities.
The RDC-13 also noted the reduction in the poverty incidence in the region.
