HODGKINS -- Principle Construction Corp. has been selected to complete an 80,707 square foot tenant improvement project for DPI Specialty Foods, 6800 Santa Fe Drive in Hodgkins.

Bannockburn-based Principle was selected to build out 3,865 square feet of office space, 20,700 square feet of freezer space with 26-foot ceiling height, add 35,136 square feet of ambient storage, 5,746 square feet of cool dock and reconstruct 15,260 square feet of cooler space.

Headquartered in Ontario, Calif., DPI Specialty Foods is a principal supplier of top quality perishable and nonperishable food items from five continents.

Mike Long is serving as Director of Project Management and Doug Brucato is serving as Senior Superintendent for Principle.

Landauer sole supplier for Premier health care

GLENWOOD -- Landauer Inc. and the Premier health care alliance have announced a sole source group purchasing agreement to deliver standardized high quality medical physics consulting support for Premier members.

The agreement allows Premier members to benefit from a full breadth of radiation safety oversight and quality assurance solutions at specially negotiated pricing and terms. With a membership base consisting of approximately 2,900 hospitals, Premier represents more than half of the community hospitals in the United States.

Under the agreement, Landauer will provide diagnostic imaging physics, radiation therapy physics, dose optimization services, and the Verifii suite of radiation safety services including assessment, gap analysis, remediation, and ongoing oversight. Valve donation helps fire science program

ORLAND PARK -- Students in the Fire Science Technology program at Joliet Junior College now will be able to see how a fire sprinkler system works thanks to a fire sprinkler valve display donated with the help of the nonprofit Northern Illinois Fire Sprinkler Advisory Board.

The NIFSAB helped to secure a fire sprinkler valve donation from Tyco and the provided the labor to install it on a display pedestal donated by Sprinkler Fitters Local 281.

"The vast majority of the students in our program are visual learners, so the actual physical presence of a functioning fire sprinkler valve that they can touch and see will be highly beneficial in the classroom. It's a big difference from the videos and photographs of valves that we showed in the past," says Duane Stonich, coordinator for JJC's Fire Science Technology program. …
