COUNTY FINALIZES INTERN AGREEMENT

The County Commission voted to finalize an agreement between the county and school system to employ interns from the county's adult education program. All costs will be reimbursed to the county by the school district's grant, County Manager C.J. Thompson said. Five to eight interns 17 to 21 years old will be employed for a maximum of six weeks.

TRIPS PLANNED FOR SENIORS

Several trips for seniors are being planned for 2014 through the Neptune Beach Senior Activity Center at 2004 Forest Ave. They include tours of national parks in June, Iceland in August, Italy in October and Tanzania in October. SPONSORS SOUGHT FOR BENEFIT AUCTION

'SWINGING ON A STAR'

The Woman's Club of Fernandina Beach will present "Swinging on a Star," an evening of Oscar-winning songs featuring Voices of Amelia Musical Playhouse Performers. 'JUST SAY I'M HERE FOR CHRIS'

A "Just say I'm here for Chris" fundraiser for the Children's Organ Transplant Association in honor of Middleburg's Chris Fowler will be 4-8 p.m. April 12 at the Deerwood Loop Pizza Grill, 8221 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville. Fowler, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, had a double lung transplant on Jan. 5. The Loop is donating 10 percent of its proceeds through its "Care to Share" program.

MOOSE LODGE FUNDRAISER
