Paul's New York Wake for Linda
Paul McCartney yesterday held a second memorial service for wife Linda.
Around 400 mourners packed a New York church and 300 fans gathered outside for the poignant tribute to his wife, who died of breast cancer two months ago, aged 56.
And as a tribute to Linda's devotion to animals and her years of campaigning for them, a single Appaloosa horse was led through the flower- filled chapel.
The star-studded congregation included musicians Paul Simon and Chrissie Hynde, film director Mike Nichols and designer Ralph Lauren.
But John Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, was not invited although she sent flowers.
Last night, her assistant, Michael Phillips, said the reason for the snub was a mystery.
He added: "She was saddened by it. There were good relations over the years."
The Riverside Church on the Upper West Side of Manhattan was filled with 45,000 flowers, hundreds of candles and eight blown- up photos of Linda. …
