Motorola, at Easter Inch near the M8 half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh, is the world's leading manufacturer of cellular telephones.
But the company is also involved at the cutting edge of developing technology at the same site.
Motorola is seeking surface mount machine operators to operate precision machinery used in the production process.
And it is also looking for surface mount technicians, automation technicians and test technicians to supervise the installation and maintenance of the machinery.
Those who have worked in the high volume electronics industry before are in particular demand. The equipment is clean, precise and expensive, so Motorola is initially seeking experienced personnel who can hit the ground running and help to carry out their expansion plans.
And those plans mean that there will be plenty opportunities for training and advancement for the right people. Further general recruitment may take place in the New Year.
A company spokesman stressed the advantages of working in an electronics manufacturing environment in a purpose-built plant.
Motorola offers a creche for employees' children, a restaurant, gym and aerobics area and an outside track.
These help to make the environment friendly to female workers, who are under-represented within the industry as a whole. …
