The series begins in characteristically dramatic form when pregnant nurse Carol Hathaway narrowly misses being killed by a truck, which slams into a coffee bar.
As the accident victims come piling into the ER, there are internal politics causing ructions behind the scenes. Dr Kovak impresses Hathaway with his winning charms.
It's almost as if Clooney never left.
