Absentee ballot applications available in Mount Prospect

If you are a registered voter who is disabled or not going to be in town for the March 21 primary election, you may cast an absentee ballot either in person or by mail. For Mount Prospect residents, in-office absentee voting will be conducted through March 20 in the village clerk's office that's located in the lower level of village hall, 100 S. Emerson St. Hours for absentee voting are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mount Prospect voters who want to vote absentee by mail can get an application for that from the clerk's office. For information regarding absentee voting or voter registration, call the clerk's office at (847) 392-6000 or send an e-mail to clerksoffice@@mountprospect.org.

RMHS seeks local businesses to recruit at student job fair

Rolling Meadows High School is scheduled to host a job fair for students from 9:05 to 11:45 a.m. Friday in the school's field house, 2901 Central Road. Area businesses looking for students to fill summer, part-time or full-time jobs may sign up for the fair by calling Amy Vannatta at (847) 718-5805. More than 40 local businesses are scheduled to appear. The fair is open to all Meadows students.

Pediatric neuropsychology topic of hospital program

The neuropsychology department of Lutheran General Hospital has opened a new child and adolescent neuropsychological assessment service to manage the large demand for testing services for children and teens. The program assesses children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Disorder, learning disorders, seizure disorders, developmental delays, chronic or acute illness, and also assesses children after they experience a head injury. Once a child has been evaluated, a multidisciplinary collaboration begins with the child's school and family to facilitate better therapies. For information, call (847) 723-7965.

Oakton Arms hosts lecture on acupuncture in older adults

Mike Bagby, a chiropractic physician and certified acupuncturist from Holy Family Medical Center, will present a lecture entitled "Acupuncture and the Senior Citizen" at 1:30 p.m. March 23 at Oakton Arms Retirement Community, 1665 Oakton Place, Des Plaines.
