Three New Restaurants Rolling into Algonquin

For years, Algonquin residents have been asking for more sit- down restaurants in their community.
A handful of restaurants are scattered throughout the village, but many are not open during dinner hours.
With that desire in mind, the village's economic development commission decided earlier this year to try to recruit new restaurants through its retail marketing strategy. A few months ago, the village's staff sent out letters to more than 50 restaurant chains suggesting Algonquin as an ideal place to build a new eatery.
On Tuesday, Algonquin officials on the community development committee recommended approval of plans for the first of what they hope will be many new restaurants in Algonquin.
Panera Bread, which will be up for a final vote before the full village board next week, expects to start construction next month and finish up in the spring.
The eatery, which features homemade breads, soups and pastries, will be built along the Randall Road corridor, just south of Stonegate Road.
Next month, plans for two additional restaurants - Buona Beef and Ruby Tuesday - are expected to be submitted to village officials for approval as part of a development called Randall Rolls, which will also include Panera. …
