Fenton Art Students' Works on Display
Byline: Bev Moretti
The Wood Dale Library is teaming up with Fenton High School to bring something new to our community - an Art Show of works created by Fenton students.
The first annual Wood Dale Art Festival will include exemplary work selected by Fenton art teachers. The art will be on display from Nov. 20 to Dec. 3 at the Wood Dale Public Library, 520 N. Wood Dale Road.
The time frame provides a wide window of opportunity for all to see, study and appreciate the work of these young artists - and the works they've produced truly are amazing.
This is a juried show with works evaluated by a panel of expert judges. While each artist will receive a participation ribbon, the judges will select and present special ribbons to first-, second- and third-place winners in grades nine through 12.
Awards will be announced at a reception to which the public is invited. The reception will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 3 at the library.
A formal discussion of the reasons a certain piece of art has been selected for a special award is generally presented by the judges. This can provide the audience a broader interpretation of and greater appreciation for the work and can be an inspiration to both the artist and the audience. …
