Naperville Prepares for the Great American Yard Sale Proceeds Benefit Homeless, Needy

Patrice Hole spent more than eight hours Friday "sorting, marking, organizing, arranging, folding - all day" preparing for next weekend's Great American Yard Sale in Naperville.
She's not done yet.
The Naperville woman is one of an estimated 250 volunteers helping to stage this year's sale organized by Krueger Realtors.
Proceeds benefit various charities, including Public Action to Deliver Shelter, the Department of Human Services, Senior Home Sharing, VietNow and Bridge Communities, Inc.
This weekend, Hole and other volunteers are collecting and organizing donated goods for the sale. People can drop off their items between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. today and Sunday at the site of the sale, the parking lot at Sam's Club and Wal-Mart, Route 59 and Ogden Avenue, Naperville.
By mid-afternoon Friday, the goods had started to pile up. There are bicycles, lawnmowers, exercise bikes, coolers, bowling balls, desks, sofas and clothing.
Heck, there's even a bathroom sink.
Rudy Krueger, organizer of the event, said he hopes to fill the 36,000 square feet of tent space with goods to sell. …
