ART lovers have been left scratching their heads at a new exhibition - of nothing.
Instead of looking at paintings or admiring sculptures, visitors to a surreal Birmingham show are being told to imagine them instead.
The wacky event - called Exhibition To Be Constructed In Your Head - is being staged in a 2,500sq ft hall at The Custard Factory in Digbeth.
And organisers say they are confident their blank walls will not attract just blank faces from members of the public.
Proto-Mu, a Birmingham-based art group, have put on the free week-long show which runs until Friday.
Spokeswoman Ana Benlloch, 29, from Moseley, said: 'We believe this will be a challenging and exciting show.
'We have no real works of art in the exhibition but there are some written descriptions of paintings and sculptures.
'The descriptions, composed by our group members, have been written on little pieces of paper which have been stuck on the walls.
'Visitors can read them and then imagine what the painting or sculpture would look like in their heads. …
