Redlin Art Center Welcomes Its One Millionth Visitor
BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--This summer, Evy Hansen, along with her father, Jim Hansen, and her two daughters, Caitlin and Elizabeth Crispen, were almost afraid to enter the gallery at the Redlin Art Center here. They saw dozens of visitors gathered around the front entrance with party horns and hats and thought they were "crashing a party." They were, in fact, the reason for the party.
The Des Moines, Iowa family was returning from a family reunion and decided to stop by the Redlin Art Center. They had never been to the Center before and were not familiar with the art of Hadley Companies artist Terry Redlin. As they entered the gallery, the other visitors blew party horns, clapped and cheered. The family was the one-millionth family to enter the Redlin Art Center, which had been opened just a little more than three years. Terry Redlin visited with the special guests, had a photo taken and marked the occasion by presenting the family with a framed set of the eight prints in his "America the Beautiful" series. The prints are part of an exclusive line of prints sold only in the Redlin Art Center Gift Shop.
"Our goal was to break 100,000 [visitors] in a year," Redlin commented. "It's all coming together nicely, the advertising, the road signs ... everything helps. …
