Artists, Publishers & Art Dealers Come Together for ArtLink 2000
ORLANDO, Fla.--After a successful debut last year, Art Link 2000--a exhibition bringing together artists from the Greenwich Workshop, Hadley House, the Mill Pond Press Companies and Somerset House Publishing with their dealers--made its second appearance. This time, the publishers, artists and attendees gathered in Orlando, Fla. (The event debuted last year in Salt Lake City, Utah). This year, more than 90 artists assembled at the luxurious Peabody Hotel Aug. 2-5 for presentations from each of the companies, spotlights on the artists and a variety of special events.
The show kicked off with artists' presentations, exhibitions of original works and an opening reception. Throughout the weekend, each publisher made a company presentation and a variety of artists were spotlighted. Also offered were several educational programs, including classes on sales techniques, effectively utilizing space, merchandising and the Internet. The show concluded with a closing gala banquet.
For many show attendees and artists, however, the most fun was found during a special evening with the artists, Shamu and his friends at Orlando's famed marine water park Sea World. There, artists provided entertainment and got to know some of the dealers. …
