Abbott to open child-care center:
Starting Thursday, Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago will be able to accommodate more than 400 children in its new state-of-the- art child care center. The grand opening of the 46,000-square-foot on-site center is set for 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the corporate headquarters on Waukegan Road, north of Atkinson Road. Facilities include a children's discovery and exploration area with a 210- gallon aquarium, art and science studio, reading library, living labyrinths and other discovery activities.
LHS offers cheerleading camp:
Future Cats Cheerleading Camp will be offered from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday and Friday at the Libertyville High School Field House. The camp is open to students entering grades three through nine this fall. The cost of the camp is $50. Registration forms are available at the school's main office and at local grade school offices. Library offers program for dads:
The Fremont Public Library is inviting dads and their children to a special program this weekend to commemorate Father's Day. The "Dad's Spring Fling" party will feature stories and songs.
