Officials from the Glen Ellyn-based college say they hope to open the satellite building near Kuhn Road and Thunderbird Trail by the fall of 2004.
"This is very exciting in a number of ways," said Chris Picard, the college's vice president for academic affairs. "We're hoping we can bring some good services to that community. We're looking forward to it."
The educational center will be housed in a soon-to-be-converted fire station that is now occupied by the Carol Stream Fire Protection District.

Picard said new bilingual programs are needed for a growing Hispanic population in northern DuPage County towns such as Hanover Park, Carol Stream, Bloomingdale and Addison.
It's a population that also can benefit from a technology center located closer to their homes, Picard said.
"It will require some relatively extensive remodeling on the interior," Picard said of the new center. …
