A DONATE-A-Book project was launched recently at the SM Megamall by the SM Foundation, IBC Channel 13, Radio Mindanao Network (RMN), and the Department of Education (DepEd).
The objective of the project is to raise as many books as possible for distribution to schools in the rural areas where books and other educational materials are a very rare commodity.
Now on its fifth year, the Donate-A-Book project has already collected a total of 1,620,000 books and distributed them to 4,378 public elementary and high school libraries, municipal and barangay libraries and daycare centers in remote places all over the country.
People can bring their books for donation at any of the twelve SM supermalls all over the country including, the television stations of IBC and the radio stations of RMN, for the whole month of May. Cash donations are also accepted.
