FORMER Celt Alan Stubbs has warned England to take Henrik Larsson lightly at their peril.
Stubbs spent four years playing alongside the Celtic striker and rates Swede Larsson among the best in the game.
Larsson and Arsenal's Freddie Ljungberg are the main threats to England's World Cup hopes on Sunday, June 2.
Larsson won the Golden Boot for being Europe's top scorer the season before last but down south his achievement was greeted with contempt.
Eighty-plus goals over two season's clearly demonstrate Larsson's ability with Stubbs well aware of the danger that Sol Campbell and Co are up against.
The Everton defender said: "Henrik's as good a striker as anyone down here and would take to the Premiership like a duck to water. People are always asking me if he could make it in England and the answer is without a doubt.
"There was talk a few years ago about Manchester United moving in for him and if that had happened they'd be talking about him in the same way that Michael Owen and Thierry Henry are spoken of.
"Henry and Robert Pires of Arsenal are the best strikers that I've faced at Everton. Henry has the same sort of intelligence as Henrik but also has lightening pace.
"I expect Henry to make a big impact on the World Cup and Henrik can do just as well.
"The problem for Owen is that so much is expected from someone who is still only 22.
"It's often forgotten how young Michael is but he's been on form over the last few months and made his mark at the last World Cup.
"Henrik is as good as Henry and Owen and would be as big a star in England as he is in Scotland. …
