Taking to the Roads to Boost Research

COMMUNITY spirit has spurred on a team of Easenhall villagers to get on their bikes next weekend to raise money for Leukaemia Research.
A team of 28 will take to the saddle for the annual Leukaemia Research Bikeathon on Sunday, June 9.
This year's route runs past the Golden Lion pub at Easenhall, where staff and customers decided to do their bit for charity.
Receptionist and team member Marie Devey said: "We've recruited some villagers and friends and there is a really good team spirit. We are all looking forward to it and everyone has been training hard. If it rains we will all get soaked but we are so enthusiastic."
Organisers hope it will attract a record turn-out and raise thousands for charity.
There are three distances for cyclists to tackle - a 10-mile tootle, a 26 mile challenge and a 50-mile marathon.
Participants start and finish at three points - Newbold Riverside Primary School, the Royal Oak at Brandon and Wolvey School. …
