Website to Help Youngsters Learn Their Rights and Responsibilities; CITIZENSHIP: New Consumer Education Information on the Internet
A NEW consumer education website has been launched this week.
The Welsh Consumer Council has launched the fully bilingual - Welsh and English - resource which is aimed at young people.
It provides information and worksheets for teachers and students on topics ranging from consumer law, shopping and money to the environment, how to complain, health and safety and lots more.
Teleri Jones, Consumer Education Officer with the Welsh Consumer Council, said, ``The new site builds on the work we have done with schools and teachers over several years.
``As well as original material, the site includes links to many other sources of information and help available on the internet.
``We have designed the site to be relevant for use within several school subjects, but especially the Personal and Social Education or Citizenship curriculum.''
The site aims to make teaching consumer education simple and fun, with downloadable material for use by teachers and students.
New sections will be brought on-line over time and the site will be constantly updated and adapted to meet teachers' needs. …
