Mellon Financial Corp. has hired Thomas C. Rogerson, the director of wealth preservation services at State Street Global Advisors Inc., as the senior director of its own private wealth management group.
He will be based in Boston and be responsible for marketing the Pittsburgh company's private wealth management services through presentations to affluent individuals, business owners, and board members of universities, hospitals, and charitable organizations nationwide.
"Tom has gained a national reputation as an authority on the special planning and wealth management needs of high-net-worth individuals," said David Holst, the national director of the Mellon group, in a press release. Last year Mr. Rogerson had 130 speaking engagements across the country and abroad, Mr. Holst said.
Before joining State Street, Mr. Rogerson had been a manager in the estate tax planning department at the PricewaterhouseCoopers predecessor Coopers & Lybrand. Earlier he had been a national director of estate tax planning at the now-defunct Kidder, Peabody & Co. Still earlier he had been the head of Boston-area retirement planning at Merrill Lynch & Co.
Citizens Bank of Massachusetts has hired Kathleen A. Schoeffler as its director of human resources.
She was also named a senior vice president at the $19.5 billion-asset bank, which is owned by Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC.
Ms. Schoeffler was the vice president of human resources at Au Bon Pain Co. Inc., an international restaurant chain based in Boston that is owned by the private equity investment firm Bruckmann, Rosser, Sherrill & Co. LLC.
