The McHenry County Defenders will present a special winter Full Moon Theatre on home energy conservation at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Woodstock Public Library.
The program will explore the issues of energy efficiency, renewable energy and energy conservation.
For example, now that the Fox Valley is in the midst of winter, there are several ways to stay warm without wasting natural resources.
James Lamb, member of the Illinois Renewable Energy Association, will teach conservation methods to use in the winter months to maximize energy efficiency and save money.
"He's going to target more what you can do in your own home to save energy," said Lenore Beyer-Clow, executive director of McHenry County Defenders.
Therefore it should be a program anyone from the average homeowner to children could learn from, she noted.
"There are simple things they can do," Beyer-Clow said, to save energy.
The presentation will focus on far more than just how to keep warm, but also how to keep food cold without wasting energy.
Lamb will also reveal how to use refrigeration and other appliances efficiently. …
