SUPERSTAR Britney Spears was preparing to jet into Ireland last night after being wooed by Irish hunk Colin Farrell.

The Hollywood bad boy is believed to have invited the princess of pop to Ireland in a bid to rekindle their relationship.

And reports here in LA claim Britney is smitten by the Daredevil star's proposal.

"At first Britney thought this was a wind up but she has discovered Colin definitely wants to show her Ireland.

"Her personal assistants have spent the past two days making the arrangements for the trip.

"She is like a teenager going to her prom. She is so excited by it all," said the friend.

Depending on her commitments, Britney could fly in in time for the Meteor Music Awards at Dublin Point Theatre on Monday night.

Millionaire Farrell invited the popstar to Ireland to spend some quality time together away from the glare of the US media.

Sources close to the millionaire singer have been scouting for places for her to stay.

She has inquired about two Dublin hotels as well as the world famous Ashford Castle in Co Mayo - setting for celebrity weddings like that of Pierce Brosnan.

Farrell is due to give a live interview with RTE's Gerry Ryan on Tuesday.

A source close to the star said he always thought Britney was very sweet but they couldn't get to know each other because of the media circus that followed them.

Britney famously turned up with the Castleknock actor three weeks ago at the premiere of his new movie The Recruit in Los Angeles.

The couple later disappeared into a bedroom at a hotel - fuelling speculation that they were having an affair.

Britney didn't help matters when she admitted that the former Ballikissangel star was a great kisser.

Farrell's friend said: "Colin has a bit of a reputation and he doesn't deny that he's had more women than Michael Caine has had movie roles. …
