Culture: Two Corporate Partners Quit Hammonds for Rivals

Two corporate finance partners are set to quit Hammonds in Birmingham for rivals Browne Jacobson.
Roger Birchall and Joanne Bligh follow Paul Cliff and Katie Sylvester out of the door - they left in January to go to Gateley Wareing.
Mr Birchall and Ms Bligh have been charged with launching a Birmingham corporate finance operation for Browne Jacobson.
The firm, which has 440 staff in total, has three offices - Nottingham, London and Birmingham - and is keen to grow its 35-strong Birmingham operation.
Established in the city since 1998, it currently concentrates on health and local authorities.
Browne Jacobson said that although downsizing and consolidation was more familiar in the current flat legal market it saw this as a time of opportunity.
It said both Mr Birchall and Ms Bligh enjoyed market leading reputations as corporate transaction lawyers and were popular with clients, investors and intermediaries.
Head of business services Rob Metcalfe said: 'We have looked at a number of opportunities in the last couple of years with a view to strengthening our corporate offering across the Midlands as a whole.
