The following are a capsule previews of all PIAA semifinal baseball and softball games scheduled for Monday.

PIAA baseball semifinals

Class AAAA

Canon-McMillan (18-4) vs. Central Mountain (16-6), noon Monday at Brockway High School

Players to watch: Canon-McMillan -- Aaron Weigel (1B), Mike Hull (OF); Central Mountain -- Curt Harpster (P), Brett Heggenstaller (3B).

Notable: Canon-McMillan is one of three No. 3 seeds from the WPIAL to reach the state semifinals. The only classification that does not have one is Class AAA. ... Central Mountain needed clutch RBI in the bottom of the seventh from Cody Dolan and Colten Stover to come back and defeat Conestoga in the quarterfinals.

Championship: 1 p.m. Friday, Blair County Ballpark, Altoona.

Class AAA

Trinity (18-7) vs. Somerset (18-6), 4:30 p.m. Monday, White Township Park

Players to watch: Trinity -- Graham Cowieson (P-OF), Evan Bukowski (C); Somerset -- Brett Christner (P), Tyler Hayman (1B).

Notable: Trinity rallied from three runs down in its quarterfinal victory against District 10 champion Hickory, scoring 13 runs in the final four innings. ... In the quarterfinals, Somerset rocked West Allegheny pitcher Zak Sinclair, who was selected Friday by the Boston Red Sox in the 34th round of the Major League Baseball draft.

Championship game: 7 p.m. Friday, Blair County Ballpark.

Class AA

Burrell (19-2) vs. Sharon (21-0), 4 p.m. Monday at North Allegheny High School

Players to watch: Burrell -- Seth Napierkowski (P); Dan Olszewski (2B), Steve Yakopec (CF); Sharon -- Dustin Norcross, (OF), Todd Rearick (OF-P), Alex Senak (P-IF).

Notable: Burrell had no hits through six innings and was losing, 3-0, before rallying to defeat Bishop McCort, 4-3, in the quarterfinals. ... The Bucs are in the state semifinals for the first time since 2002, the last time they reached the title game. Napierkowski is 14-1 in his career as a pitcher. ... Sharon advanced to the semifinals with an 11-7 victory against Seton-La Salle, which beat Sharon in the 2007 state playoffs.

Championship game: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Blair County Ballpark, Altoona.

Class A

Serra Catholic (23-2) vs. Carmichaels (22-1), 6 p.m. Monday, at CONSOL Energy Field, Washington

Players to watch: Serra -- Brian Henze (P), Cam Olsen (C), Adam Cristillini (CF); Carmichaels -- Joby Lapkowicz (P), Chuck Gasti (P/ SS), Marcus Robinson (3B). …
