Jones Public Relations Group, Omniplex Win Top OKC Public Relations Society of America Awards

The Oklahoma City Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America presented Upper Case Awards in 18 categories and two best of show awards at its 27th annual awards banquet and annual meeting.

The South Carolina PRSA chapter judged the entries.

The quality of Upper Case Award entries, as well as the feedback that we received from our peers at the South Carolina chapter confirm that Oklahoma is home to an extremely talented and creative pool of public relations and communications professionals, said Amanda Spencer, PRSA-Oklahoma City chapter president.

The 2004 Best of Show Award for Public Relations Tactics was presented to Jones Public Relations Group.

Omniplex received the 2004 Best of Show for Public Relations Programs.

The 2004 Upper Case Award recipients by category were:

* Public Relations Materials-4 color - Upper Case Award to Omniplex; Award of Merit to the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber; Honorable Mention to the Percussive Arts Society.

* Magazines-4 color - Upper Case Award to World Neighbors; Award of Merit to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation; Honorable Mention to the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

* Annual Reports-4 color - Upper Case Award, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation; Award of Merit, OGE Energy Corp.; Honorable Mention, Oklahoma Housing Finance Agency.

* Newsletters-4 color - Upper Case Award, Devon Energy; Award of Merit, Kerr-McGee Corp.; Honorable Mention, Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Communications.

* Speech Writing - Upper Case Award, National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism; Award of Merit, OGE Energy Corp.; Honorable Mention, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

* Straight News Writing - Upper Case Award, Jones Public Relations Group; Award of Merit, Delta Dental of Oklahoma.

* Feature Story Writing - Upper Case Award, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation; Award of Merit, The Kelly Group; Honorable Mention, Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

* Visual Materials - Upper Case Award, Omniplex; Award of Merit, Oklahoma Department of Human Services Office of Communications; Honorable Mention, Visual Image Advertising.
