Its an apt description of the new Appetizers Restaurant & Lounge, which opened recently at 314 Goff Mountain Road, between CAMC Urgent Care and Batteries Plus. With its spacious and comfortable dining room, tastefully appointed bar area and WiFi connectivity, Appetizers Restaurant & Lounge is indeed a place where business professionals, friends and co-workers can relax after work or linger and enjoy a full meal. On your way home, have dinner; the atmosphere is casual, said Shepherd, a Cross Lanes resident, who has experience in the restaurant business. His sister, Nancy Shepherd, who earned a degree in organizational management from Mountain State University, manages the new restaurant and lounge. A couple of chain restaurants have occupied the same space, but Shepherd and his sister completely remodeled the interior to give Appetizers its own brand and look. We re-imagined it; it has a softer feel, Nancy said. And the name Appetizers aptly describes one of the new eaterys main draws. The name says it all appetizers is the niche here, Shepherd said. For example, the menu lists shrimp as an appetizer, and its prepared four ways at Appetizers Restaurant & Lounge. Customers can order shrimp cocktail, grilled shrimp, deep-fried shrimp and jerk shrimp. Were hoping to sell fried oysters and crab legs, too, he said. Other appetizers on the menu include wings served in a variety of styles, including naked, buffalo, barbecue and jerk. Ribs, seasoned and rubbed in house and served in Appetizers special sauce, are also offered. There are also nachos, cheese fries, cheese sticks, fried green beans, potato skins and onion blossoms. Appetizers Sampler includes shrimp or calamari, wings or chicken strips, rib quarter, nachos with salsa or cheese fries, onion blossom or potato skins. The dinner menu is loaded with favorites, including ribeye steaks, sirloin, salmon, charbroiled tilapia, charbroiled and marinated chicken breast, charbroiled pork chops, crab cakes and chicken or shrimp Alfredo. …
