A successful foot chase after a bank robbery in north St. Louis County helped police solve a string of 13 armed robberies committed by members of the same group, St. Louis County police said Saturday.
The latest robbery occurred Thursday at the Magna Bank, 11200 West Florissant Avenue. County police arrested three of the four robbers a short time later - and then began collecting admissions and information about the other robberies, said county Detective Gary Fourtney.
Police have arrested and charged three teen-agers and a juvenile, all of whom live in north St. Louis County. Fourtney said detectives are looking for up to four others.
The three teens are: Jason Patton, 19, of the 8800 block of Dragonwyk Street in Normandy, on a federal charge of bank robbery; Damion Dennis, 19, of the 11000 block of Linnell Drive in unincorporated north St. Louis County, on two state counts of robbery and two of armed criminal action; and Calvin Roberson, 17, on one state count of robbery and another of armed criminal action. Police had no address for Roberson.
Fourtney said Dennis was on probation for a burglary conviction.
Fourtney said the six to eight participants in the robberies did not consider themselves a gang, but took turns playing well-organized roles in the robberies. Almost all of the robberies were of fast-food restaurants. …
