Witness's Ability to ID Shooter Questioned

Less than two years after the 1994 shooting death of her daughter, Barbara Robinson told police she couldn't identify the three men she claimed she had seen walk near her house before the shooting and run away afterward.
But on Thursday, Robinson told an Allegheny County jury that she recognized Terrell Johnson as one of the men.
"If somebody killed your child, you'd never forget that face," Robinson told Johnson's defense attorney, Turahn Jenkins. "I seen what I seen. ... I might have said (I couldn't previously identify him) because I was scared."
A jury convicted Johnson, 37, formerly of Hazelwood, in 1995 for the July 22, 1994, shooting death of Verna Robinson, 30.
Verna Robinson had been scheduled to testify against Johnson on charges that he assaulted her a month earlier, and in a case against a member of the "Hazelwood mob" she witnessed fatally shoot a man in a drive-by. …
