THE daughter of a pensioner who had a heart attack on a petrol station forecourt has thanked an off-duty doctor who may have saved his life.

When Alan Bulmer suffered a cardiac arrest at Gordons Limes Service Station in Worsley, Salford, Dr Nigel Hyams rushed to resuscitate him.

The doctor, from Walkden Medical Centre, spent 15 minutes giving the 81-year-old CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Paramedics then arrived and rushed Mr Bulmer to Manchester Royal Infirmary, where he was put into an induced coma because his brain was starved of oxygen for a prolonged period of time.

Mr Bulmer suffered a major heart attack and may have suffered serious longterm damage.
