Beagle Buys California Firm, Plans to Include Office Here

A California real-estate operation has been purchased for an undisclosed amount by N.A. Beagle & Associates according to Don S tout, public relations director for N.A. Beagle.

The transaction was closed on Aug. 8 but details of the agreement were not revealed.

Help-U-Sell is more of a real estate service center, rather than a broker, Stout said.

N.A. Beagle is the Oklahoma City representative for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Co.

Help-U-Sell is a chain of franchises based in Los Angeles and operating in southern California and Utah. The corporate offices will be moved from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City There will also be anoffice in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma City company has plans to take Help-U-Sell from being a regional company operating in California and Utah only to a nationwide company within one year. Stout said the company plans to have a total of about 50 offices in place after one year of operation.

The addition of Help-U-Sell is expected to boost N.A. Beagle's income by 50 percent, Stout said.

"Most of the increase will be generated by younger consumers," he said. "Most of the people that take advantage of it are younger people who are just getting started.

"The more secure don't want to take the trouble of selling their own property. The younger couples will take advantage, if it means saving them (money)."

N.A. Beagle is a comprehensive financial planning firm involved in the marketing of personal financial products and services, such as asset management or corporate pension.

The unique concept of Help-U-Sell as described by Stout has been in practice in California for 10 years and has been successful, he said.

Rather than listing a piece of real estate with a broker, the individual who goes through Help-U-Sell may become more involved in the sale and also take advantage of lower prices.

"The working philosophy is to provide the highest quality service at one-half the price of the traditional real estate firms," Stout said.

Buyers are offered various types of financing packages and can be involved in making the actual transaction.

"If I've got five acres I'd like to sell, I can say how much I want to be involved. I can sell it myself or be in contact with the firm that is selling it," Stout explained, using examples. …
