Mcdowell, Farmer to Lead State Delegation to Trade Show


George McDowell, president of the Sales and Marketing Executives Association of Oklahoma City, and Don Farmer, president-elect, will lead the Oklahoma City delegation to the 54th Annual International Marketing Congress and Trade Show of Sales and Marketing Executives International in June. The convention will be in Orlando, Fla., and will highlight the theme "A World of Success - Marketing in the Next Decade. . .

- Tim Tashjian and Curtis Grosse, senior math majors from Southern Nazarene University, have been selected to receive teaching fellowships from two of the nation's premiere research universities. Tashjian, from Oklahoma City, will continue his education at the Graduate School of Mathematics at the University of Texas at Austin, and Grosse, Prattville, Ala., will attend the Graduate School of Mathematics at Ohio State University. . .

- Patricia Etzkin has been appointed general sales manager for KMGL FM. Etzkin is the past president of American Women in Radio and Television in Oklahoma City and serves as a member of the National Membership Committee. The station is owned by Renda Broadcasting, Pittsburge, Penn.. . .

- Paul A. Larson, a doctoral candidate in marketing at the University of Oklahoma, is one of three recipients nationwide of a grant from the National Association of Purchasing Management to support his dissertation research. The grant is designed to encourage the production of useful research applicable to the management of the purchasing aterials management function in a business or non-profit organization. . .

- Robert A. Nye, professor of history at the University of Oklahoma, has been awarded a $27,500 Senior Fellowship at the Rutgers University Center for Historical Analysis in New Brunswick, N.J. A member of the OU history faculty since 1969, Nye has received grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Science Foundation. He is the author of three books and numerous scholarly articles, and has won three prizes on his work. . .
