Security National Bank Plans to Build Branch in East Norman

Security National Bank Trust Co. of Norman plans to build a $750,000 branch in east Norman, the bank's chief said Tuesday.
The bank has applied to the U.S. Comptroller of the Currency for approval to establish the new branch at 12th Ave. SE and Commerce Dr.
Neil S. West, president and chief executive officer, said the bank plans to begin construction in late October if regulatory approval is received.
The branch will have 3,500 to 4,000 square feet and five drive-up lanes. It was designed by Kaighn Associates of Norman and would offer safety deposit boxes, consumer lending, new accounts and other teller operations.
"We have a significant market share on the east side of Norman," West said. "About 23 percent of our customers come out of Norman's east zip code. We want to protect that market share, and we think we can acquire new customers if we had a better physical presence there."
Usage at the bank's two automated teller machines near the proposed branch indicates that a fullrvice location would do well there. …
