Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and its partner, Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems, will be busy the next few days.

Southwestern Bell is sponsoring the sixth annual Chisholm Trail Western Art Show and sale Friday night in the new Mid-High facility at 1029 S. 11th St. (State Hwy. 92) in Yukon.

An invitational reception is scheduled from 6 until 9 p.m. to meet the artists and enjoy hors d'oeuvres.

Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems will host a Firm Night dinner for members of Executive Women International and their guests on Tuesday at the Will Rogers Center. Featured speaker will be John Stupka, president and chief executive of Southwestern Bell Mobile Systems and an Oklahoma City native. He is a 1971 graduate of the University of Oklahoma.

Entertainment will be provided by the Euphonious Woodwind Quartet. Presiding will be Shirley Jackman, head of the Oklahoma Chapter of Executive Women International. . . American Airlines representative Riley Fitzhugh agreed to make good on the weekend trip at a later date. . . "Something's Brewing" is the theme of the upcoming benefit sponsored by the Associate Board of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra. The tasty evening will be Sunday, and the hours will be from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Bricktown Brewery.

Guests will be able to taste test the brewery's beers and sample hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Randy Pentecost of Bricktown Brewery. Entertainment will be provided by After Five; a jazz band and a silent auction, which includes a trip to New York City, will complete the evening.

Tickets to "Something's Brewing" are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Dress is casual. Major corporate sponsors of the fund raiser are American Airlines, Bank of Oklahoma NA, Boatmen's First National Bank of Oklahoma and Travel by Inace. . . Pacer, 3200 Ken Bonds Ave., Oklahoma's oldest hospital-based fitness center, just got bigger and a year older. The general public is invited to help celebrate Pacer Fitness Center's 15th birthday between 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday when a 12,000-square-foot expansion project will be unveiled. . . And, speaking of fitness, the ninth annual Quail Classic is scheduled June 12. However, almost everything about it has been changed this year except its name and its beneficiary. …
