Vance & DeDecker honored at annual juried show

DENVER * This month Saks Galleries presents a juried show of paintings and sculptures by members of the Women Artists of the West group. In conjunction with the show, the organization is honoring two Colorado artists, Karen Vance and Jane DeDecker, with Awards of Excellence. Other invited artists include Louisa McElwain, Jill Soukup, Leslie Allen, and Cammie Lundeen. Family, nature, and beauty found in unexpected places are among the themes featured in the artworks. Scenes From Abroad

ESTES PARK * Last October a group of top American landscape painters journeyed to Scotland and England to paint historic sites such as Brodie Castle, Hampton Court, and Rosalyn Chapel. They were joined by a cadre of well-known artists from the United Kingdom. This month two separate shows of the resulting works are presented at Loch Vale Fine Art. The first event is Castles & Clans: Art From Scotland, which runs through February 16. Cathedrals & Crowns: Art From England is on view from February 20 to March 20. Trailside Galleries hosts its annual Wildlife Discovery show this month. The show offers collectors and animal enthusiasts the opportunity to view a wide variety of painting styles and subject matter. Of special interest this year is a group of new works by renowned wildlife artist Nancy Glazier. Glazier is well known for her paintings depicting North American animals in their natural habitat, often against panoramic backgrounds. Through her art, she demonstrates her commitment to the preservation of wildlife and the environment.
