Deathly Hallows Takes over 18,000 Screens in 91 Markets


Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 descends upon the world this weekend like a plague of Death Eaters in what is expected to become one of the biggest launches in history.

Warner Bros Pictures International has scheduled releases on 18,000 screens in 91 markets day-and-date with North America.

The penultimate episode in the industry's biggest franchise will knock Fox International's thriller Unstoppable off its perch. That film stands at $21.7m and calls on Hungary, Israel, Sri Lanka and Syria this weekend.

Latest figures from Fox put Vampires Suck on $41.9m, Knight & Day on $184.7m and Avatar on $2.023bn.

Universal / UIP's Despicable Me has amassed $262.9m. The Kids Are All Right arrives in Germany and Austria and has grossed $2.2m. Scott Pilgrim Vs The World on $14.9m opens in Italy, Switzerland and German-speaking Switzerland. …
