Health and Aging Policy Fellows Program Now Accepting Applications
The Health and Aging Policy Fellows Program is now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 fellowship year. The application deadline is May 20, 201 1. Supported by The Atlantic Philanthropies and directed by Dr. Harold Alan Pincus, professor of Psychiatry and Health Policy and Management at Columbia University (in collaboration with the American Political Science Association Congressional Fellowship Program), this national program is open to professionals in all disciplines, and at all career stages, who have a demonstrated commitment to health and aging issues and a desire to be involved in health policy at the federal, state or local level.
The program seeks to create a cadre of leaders to serve as change agents in health and aging policy to improve the lives of older adults, and offers two tracks: residential Fellows work full time in a nine-to-twelve-month placement (in the U.S. Senate or House of Representatives, executive agencies or "think tank" organizations); and nonresidential Fellows remain in their current positions while working on a specific policy project which may involve brief placements throughout the year at relevant sites. …
