OCLC and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions announced the five librarians that were chosen for the 2013 Jay Jordan IFLA/OCLC Early Career Development Fellowship Program. The Fellows are Dwaymian Brissette, a librarian at Myers, Fletcher & Gordon Law Library in Kingston, Jamaica; Caroline Nyaga, a librarian at Kenya Education Management Institute in Nairobi, Kenya; David Ofili, an assistant librarian at the University of Benin in Benin City, Nigeria; Rozita Petrin - ska-Labudovikj, a librarian at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia; and Chona San Pedro, a librarian II at the National Library of the Philippines in Manila, Philippines. According to the release, this program supports library and information science professionals from countries with developing economies. The program will be held for 4 weeks and will provide continuing education and exposure including discussions with library science leaders. There will also be library visits and professional development activities. Also, the Fellows will have the chance to share their culture and customs.

In a separate release, OCLC announced that Jay Jordan, president and CEO of OCLC, will postpone his retirement and continue as CEO. He is the fourth president in OCLC's history. He previously worked at Information Handling Services. Before that, he held positions with 3M Corp. in the U.S. and Europe.

Acting Public Printer Davita Vance- Cooks of the U.S. Government Printing Office named Charley Barth as the director of the National Archives' Office of the Federal Register. Barth has more than 20 years of records management experience. Previously, he served in the Department of the Navy and the Department of Homeland Security.

The Federal Register is a daily journal of the government and is available in print and digital formats.

Massena Public Library (MPL) in N.Y. announced the appointment of Elaine DunneThayer as the new director of the library. The position is provisional for 6 months, and after that it will become permanent. Most recently, she was youth services librarian at MPL.
