Africa, You are the second largest of the earth's 7 continents.
You cover one-fifth of the world's total land area.
46 countries share borders on your landscape
And approximately 550 million people call you home.
Africa, what is happening to you, oh Africa?
Wars, wars, wars are the order of the day.
Driving many of your sons and daughters into homelessness
With more than 7 million refugees crying for help.
Africa, you have reason to be worried.
Many of your people have been uprooted by famine,
Genocides and assassinations.
All have but left your people maimed.
Africa, you have been cursed,
Drought, disease and hunger.
Malnutrition is no longer for children only but adults too.
Hundreds die of hunger everyday
And 45% live in poverty.
Africa, how about that deadly disease AIDS,
With more than 25 million living with the killer disease?
What will become of you Africa?
Many of your children are now orphans
Who know not where their next meal comes from.
Africa, Cry the beloved country Africa.
But wait, there's more.
I see the mountains rise high into the skies
The rivers swirling, curling and emptying their waters
Into the mighty Atlantic and Indian oceans. …
