LSTM Available on WorldShare

The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) chose OCLC's WorldShare Management Services. LSTM, an international education and research center for the study of infectious diseases, will use the cloud-based library management and discovery applications, which will help streamline workflows.

ProQuest Collections Nowon Primo

ProQuest and Ex Libris Group announced that more than 200 of ProQuest's databases were indexed in the Ex Libris' Primo Central Index, making the content discoverable on the Ex Libris' Primo discovery service. Other databases will be accessible via Primo in the future.

Grant-Funded Program Assists Patrons With Technology

Passport to Success, a new program at Fountaindale Public Library, assists patrons in learning fundamental technology skills. Among other things, it will help patrons learn how to effectively communicate online. This program, funded by a 2014 Eliminate the Digital Divide grant, has four tracks.

DPLA to Expand Its Infrastructure

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) awarded a $999,485 grant to the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) to expand its infrastructure. DPLA makes everything from libraries, archives, and museums freely available. These funds will allow DPLA to expand its service hubs network and possibly double its hubs. DPLA hubs are state and regional collaborations that host and aggregate digital objects.

Testing OCLC's WorldCat Discovery API

The WorldCat Discovery API from OCLC is in beta. It provides access for libraries to search and find resources in WorldCat and a central index of article and ebook metadata. Features include access to central index metadata, linked data response formats, and access to the latest data models.

Update Gives Reviews to Libraries

ProQuest is offering a resource to find reviews of open access (OA) and niche serials titles. Magazines for Libraries Update, a free online resource of reviews published quarterly, helps librarians discover and evaluate resources for their library collections.

OCLC and Econtent in Libraries

"Success Strategies for Electronic Content Discovery and Access" is a white paper written by a group of library professionals, content providers, and OCLC.
